How It Works
Underground Dog Fences

As a pet owner, you want to keep your dog safe in your yard and protected from its dangers — such as pools and fish ponds. You also want to prevent your pet from wandering into flower beds and vegetable gardens. The electronic dog fence from Freedom Dog Fence, once installed and after training, is an effective pet boundary that doesn’t block beautiful views like a regular fence would.

Fence Setup

The underground electronic dog fence signal wire is buried around the perimeter of your yard and places where it’s not safe for your pet to roam. Once the underground wire is buried, boundary flags are set inside the perimeter that the signal wire defines. Choose a mild correction stimulus or an audio signal to correct your dog if it goes into the reminder zone. After setup, you then train your pet where the perimeter is using the flags and commands.

Walk your dog while it is on a leash around the inside of the perimeter. Using verbal commands, train your dog to stay away from the boundary flags.

How the Electronic Dog Fence Works

The electronic dog fence system features a “reminder” zone, which is 3 to 6 feet from the signal wire. If your dog goes into the zone,
the reminder that you chose — the audio signal or the mild stimulus correction — will be triggered by the receiver on the collar. This tells your dog that it is getting close to the boundary.

The receiver on the collar works with a radio signal that the fence uses. As your dog gets closer to the barrier, the receiver emits the appropriate stimulus level. Once the dog goes through the reminder zone, it reaches a second zone or field. That area produces maximum correction based on your settings to prevent escape.

all of my concerns. I have a very timid dog and he has been

"They took the time to train the dogs individually and made sure we were comfortable with what they talked about bfore leaving. Even made a follow up call later the next week to see how things were going."
